Archaeological
researchers are increasingly using reconstructions both
to communicate
their finds to a wider audience and to explore their own
theories. The
latest laser scanners can be used to capture both the
geometry and texture
of the existing remains and the sites reconstructed
using modelling
packages. Unlike Radiance however, the rendering methods
of these packages
typically do not produce physically accurate and
measurable results. We
present a series of tools designed to streamline
the workflow from scanner
through Maya to Radiance.
